For exterior installations, the best substrate is a flat, solid, and structurally sound surface. Common recommended options include:
- Exterior-grade plywood or OSB sheathing
- Cement board (for added moisture resistance)
- Concrete or masonry surfaces
If installing over wood framing, make sure there is proper exterior sheathing in place along with a weather-resistant barrier (like house wrap) behind the panels. The surface should be clean, dry, and level to ensure a secure and long-lasting installation.
Our panels are designed to be lightweight and easy to install, so as long as the substrate is stable and properly prepared, you should get excellent results.
