Yes—with a couple of notes. Our panels are finished for exterior use and don’t require a topcoat in a covered area, but if you want extra cleanability or a specific sheen, you can apply a clear coat to the exposed face.
Guidelines:
-
Use an exterior-rated, water-based, non-yellowing acrylic or polyurethane clear coat in matte or satin.
-
Avoid solvent-based/lacquer products; they can soften the surface and may yellow.
-
Apply the clear coat after installation and keep it off the back, interlock edges, and areas that receive adhesive or caulk—coating those can reduce bond strength.
-
Test a small, inconspicuous area first; a clear coat may slightly deepen color.
-
Normal cleaning is mild soap/water; recoat only as needed based on exposure.
